Understanding Our Lessons Learned Repository

Purpose:

Our Lessons Learned Repository is a centralized database of project performance data and insights. It's designed to help project managers and decision-makers:

- Identify patterns in project success and failure

- Make data-driven decisions for future projects

- Improve overall project management practices

Our Approach:

We use a comprehensive set of 27 indices to measure project performance:

- 12 Qualitative Indices: Measuring subjective aspects like stakeholder satisfaction and quality of planning.

- 15 Quantitative Indices: Tracking objective metrics such as budget utilization and schedule performance.

These indices provide a holistic view of project performance, allowing for nuanced analysis and insights.

Benefits:

- Informed Decision Making: Access to historical data helps in making better-informed choices for future projects.

- Performance Improvement: Identify areas of strength and weakness across projects.

- Risk Mitigation: Recognize potential issues early based on patterns from past projects.

- Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the transfer of knowledge across teams and departments.

    How to Use the Repository:

  • Input your project data regularly
  • Compare your project's performance against benchmarks
  • Analyze detailed project metrics
  • Use insights to inform planning and execution of future projects
